blog 2 - the box series
It makes perfect sense that an Apple IPad box is my version of the shadow box. Their size and structure lend themselves perfectly. They have a built in plastic shelf which works for placement of the abstract elements. [I have a secret source for the boxes, lets just say Harvard buys a lot of electronics for students to borrow from the libraries.]
blog 3 - covid art
I also made art during the year long Covid lock down. The dining room of my 800sf apartment became my studio. I actually constructed a few large scale pieces on the floor. While take part, drilling and filing was done in the backstairs with ventilation.
blog 4 - Ana
Another great thing that happened last year was…. Ana Cabrera from CNN wore my Fan Board earrings on air. Then she tweeted about it. The tweet from May currently has 8.6K likes! After Ana Cabrera posted about them on Twitter I got 25 sales! Fantastic! You can read about how it came about HERE
blog 5 - asylum
If you ever visited me at The Artisan’s Asylum, you know my studios were always a wonder to behold. Filled with old equipment, disassembled parts sorted by color, all kinds of tools, supplies, recycled paper and scrap wood. I built upwards with tall shelves requiring a ladder and amazing “squirreling” skills. On the front page of my website Portfolio I’ve document my studio each year. Starting with a 3’ x 3’ pallet space which took the form of shelving with wheels to my final 100’ sf space.
